|
Zhejiang’s nuclear power industry has been developing for nearly 20 years. There are 3 nuclear power plants currently operating, 5 sets with a total installed capacity of 3.1 million kW. This accounts for about 6% of total installed electric power capacity in Zhejiang province; By 2015, a further 5 machine sets will be added with 5.8 million kilowatts of installed capacity. The total installed capacity of nuclear power will reach nearly 900 million kilowatts, 12% of the total electricity installed capacity. The power generation structure will be significantly enhanced. In April 2010, Zhejiang government and the China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corporation (CGNPC) signed a "strategic energy cooperation agreement", the two sides made the agreement for nuclear power project development and construction, promotion of equipment manufacture, engineering and construction, training, technological research and development and exploration of uranium resources. |
