A large platform of nuclear industry –(Haiyan) China nuclear power City On 28th March 2010, the Zhejiang government and the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) signed agreements concerning the building of China's first nuclear power city – Haiyan China Nuclear Power. They signed an order with a value of 15 billion RMB. CNNC plans to build its own nuclear training center, promotion center, components base and debugging technology centers in Haiyan. "China Nuclear Power City" covers an area of 130 square kilometers, a quarter of the area of the county. According to the plan, four functional areas - nuclear power production, living, administration services, R & D and equipment manufacturing will be set up in Haiyan China nuclear power city. The idea is to promote nuclear power related industries from manufacturing, culture and education. As economic competition for worldwide energy increases, the Chinese government will invest 1.2 trillion RMB in the nuclear power industry in the coming 20 years. This brings Haiyan a promising opportunity to become the nuclear power leader in China. Large projects and large enterprises will cultivate the industry benefiting Haiyan’s prosperity. |
