Infrastructure
ElectricityThe power supply facility in Haiyan is developing rapidly. Currently, the power distribution network consists of 220kV and 110kV networks, and 35kV and 10kV auxiliary networks. The main network has 7 110kV electricity substations with 12 main transformers and a capacity of 429,000kVA and 8 35kV substations with 13 main transformers and capacity of 124,500kVA. There are 16 110kV lines, measuring a length of about 116 kilometers, 26 35kV lines totaling about 186 kilometers and 137 10kV lines measuring about 1,170 kilometers. There are also 2,602 auxiliary transformers with a total capacity of 583,752kVA. The capacity for the whole system is about 1.322 billionkVA. TelecommunicationHaiyan is in the top one hundred counties in China for telecommunications. It has adopted optical cable for communication and program control which enable direct communication with more than 180 countries and districts. The utilization rate of the telephone is 43 telephones to every one hundred people. Broadband can extend to each community and town. Transportation conditionRoad transportation: the provincial NO.1 highway connects with the Zha-Jia-Su Highway and Hangzhou Bay Great Bridge development zone. The Pudong-Hangzhou expressway runs through the whole county. Jiaxing’s freight and passenger railways stations and waterway stations are 35 kilometers from Haiyan. When the bridge construction finished in 2008, Haiyan county became a regional center within one-hour of the 4 giant cities of Shanghai, Hangzhou, Ningbo and Suzhou. Air transportation: the distances from Shanghai Hongqiao International airport, Pudong International Airport and Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport are each around 100 kilometers. Sea transportation: close to Jiaxing’s nationally ranked port, north to Shanghai’s Yangshan ports, south to Ningbo’s Beilun port and Zhoushan’s port. Haiyan port district and Jiaxing Seaport, together with the combination of waterway transport, will make the Yangtze delta logistic center an intermodal transport hub. By the year 2010, there will be 27 deep water berths of 10,000 ton capacity and 12 berths of 1,000 ton capacity. The annual cargo handling capacity will reach more than 40 million tons, of which container throughput will account for 260,000 TEU per year. |
